THE MEMOIR

Marina’s life begins in closeness and contrast. Raised in a home rich with warmth, discipline, faith, and Jamaican heritage, she grows up surrounded by love, yet quietly questioning her worth.

From early childhood, subtle fractures begin to form. Comparison. Difference. Silence. Outside the safety of home, exclusion and confusion begin shaping her understanding of identity, intimacy, and belonging.

At sixteen, freedom feels within reach.

What follows is a journey through the many versions of love she encounters: Puppy Love, Seen Love, Not Love, Just Sex & Drugs, Decent Love (Kinda), Toxic Love, Desperate Love, each relationship revealing something, and taking something with it.

Written partly from diary entries captured in real time, the narrative preserves the raw voice of a young girl growing into womanhood. As the years unfold, faith is wrestled with, addictions surface, friendships fracture, and the ache to feel enough intensifies.

This is not a neat redemption story.
It is a layered unfolding.

Until Love Found Me is the first chapter in a deeply personal journey, an honest exploration of misplaced affection, identity, shame, surrender, and the quiet, relentless pursuit of a love that does not leave.

Some love stories begin with romance.
This one begins with absence.
