DINKUM DIARIES: THE THIRST

WHAT IS “The Thirst”?
It’s more than longing. It’s more than want.
The Thirst is the quiet ache we carry, and the loud noise it creates when it's ignored. It’s about need: emotional, spiritual, creative, physical, communal. And what happens when that need goes unseen, unmet, or misunderstood.

In this world, one person’s thirst can deplete another’s. The pursuit of love, power, validation, survival, beauty, connection, purpose, these hungers don’t always coexist gently. Sometimes, they collide. And when they do, what’s left behind are stories, lessons, art, and scars.

That’s what this book is about.

THE INVITATION

We’re curating a global coffee table book, a visual and written diary that explores this concept through the eyes, hearts, and voices of women across the world.

We're seeking 7 women from each continent to contribute original creative work that captures their interpretation of "The Thirst."

Your thirst may look like:

  • A photograph of silence after heartbreak.

  • A poem about craving ancestral connection.

  • An illustration of the body as a battleground.

  • A journal entry about motherhood, migration, or money.

  • A painting that asks, “What does power cost?”

  • A story that weaves culture and longing through memory.

There’s no one way to tell this story.
We want to see your truth through your lens. We’re looking for raw, creative expressions through writing, photography, visual art, collage, or mixed media that respond to the theme with depth and honesty.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for women who:

✔ Feel something urgent beneath the surface
✔ Want to use their creativity to reflect or challenge the world
✔ Champion authenticity
✔ Aren't afraid to to be seen

*PLEASE NOTE*  All profits from this book will be donated to charity, so all selected writers will be offered a flat fee payment based on word count which is non negotiable.
