Everything is a Remix: Dinkum Diaries at the GUAP Gala 2025

It was the first time Dinkum Diaries graced the GUAP Gala, held in partnership with ASOS, and we're certain it won’t be the last.
The Natural History Museum once again served as the Gala’s grand habitat, and what a fitting venue it was. Few places could so perfectly host a crowd of creatives buzzing with innovation, expression, and style. GUAP has long excelled not only in showcasing emerging talent but in providing spaces where creativity can thrive, and be celebrated for its cultural impact.
GUAP continues to make a statement: creativity matters. Its influence on culture, fashion, and community ensures that GUAP will always hold space in the creative landscape.
From TikTok personalities to music connoisseurs, the room was filled to the brim, but what truly had everyone talking was the theme: Everything is a Remix.
Each guest interpreted the concept in their own unique way, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.
One of the first looks to catch our eye was Joelah’s, a breathtaking blend of Champion hoodies reimagined into a silhouette reminiscent of the twentieth century, or perhaps something straight out of Bridgerton. Transforming an everyday streetwear staple into a gala-worthy gown was nothing short of genius, and set the tone for a night of daring reinvention.
Of course, we were there to witness the 2025 winners, from DC3, who took home Music Artist of the Year, to Elshy, crowned Stylist of the Year. But the evening felt like more than an awards show; it was a live celebration of creativity through fashion. Every hand-sewn detail, every intricate design, and even the experimental AI-inspired creations reflected the limitless ways artistry manifests.
Fashion Stylist Adeola’s hand-sewn braided hair detail on her constructed dress was nothing short of phenomenal. Sarel’s intricately custom designed jigsaw corset by Brian De Cavalho was another standout, the craftsmanship, the shape, the sheer artistry of it all left us in awe. And let’s not overlook the men, from Mulan-inspired triumphs to sharply tailored suits with unexpected twists, they showed up and showed out.
The entire evening was a masterclass in self-expression. Drinks flowed, live performances electrified the space, conversations buzzed, and energy filled every corner. And yes, it really was good vibes only, fittingly crowned by Good Vibes Only themselves, who took home New Creative of the Year and showed us exactly why.
The night was more than an event, it was an ecosystem of creativity, collaboration, and endless inspiration. Here’s to more moments like these, and to GUAP for reminding us that everything truly is a remix
